Welcome! Walla Walla's Gourmet Grocery
June 2006

Thank you for signing up to receive our email newsletters. We hope that you will find our emails of interest! We have been open now for just about three months, and have really enjoyed being a part of the downtown Walla Walla business community.

We have some really exciting plans for our store, and intend to use this newsletter as a forum to introduce what's new at Salumiere Cesario and to announce our upcoming special events. If you haven't stopped by our store in a while, it's time to come back in! Our inventory is growing and we are always bringing in new items to share with our customers.

  • Formaggio

We have been bringing in an incredible selection of artisanal cheeses, with new cheese being added every week! Some of the new additions to our Cheese Closet this week are:

    • Neal's Yard Diary Gubbeen and Coolea - Handcrafted in Ireland
    • Piave from the Veneto, Italy
    • 8-Month Raw Milk Manchego from Spain
    • Mt. Tam Organic Milk Triple Creme from Cowgirl Creamery
    • Cabra al Vino (Drunken Goat) from Spain
Stop by and walk-in our Cheese Closet for a taste!

    Salumi

We just began carrying yet another handcrafted Salumi, Fra'Mani, out of Berkeley, CA to add to the incredible selection of fine meats we continue to carry from Salumi Cured Meats in Seattle and Salumeria Billese in New York. And, just in time for 4th of July grilling, we have Fra'Mani Handcrafted Italian Sausages in both Sweet and Spicy.

    Wine & Beer

We have recently expanded our wine and beer selection with amazing finds from around the world.

With summer just heating up, we have stocked up on great summertime wines, at hard to find prices! Some examples:

    • 2004 Vieille Ferme Costieres de Nimes Rose
    • 2004 Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc - Viognier
    • 2004 Rosenblum Petite Sirah (perfect for BBQ!)
And, to round out our beer selection for the summer, we have just brought in the following Belgian style summer brews:
    • Saison Dupont Farmhouse Ale - Belgium
    • Foret Organic Saison Ale - Belgium
    • Achouffe La Chouffe - Belgium
    • Dupont Cidre Bouche - Normandy, France

    Fresh Produce

We have also been working with local growers to bring in some wonderful fresh produce from the Walla Walla valley and beyond. We will soon be featuring fresh greens and some of the best arugula we have tasted. Not to mention the fresh Bing Cherries, Meyer Lemons, Champagne Mangos and Lemongrass that we bring in on a regular basis.

    Cheers!

    Gustiamo!

Gustiamo, in Italian, means "Let's Taste Together!" which is precisely what we plan to do.

Beginning in July, we will host Gustiamo on Thursday Night. We will feature local wineries, flight tastings, and regional tastings as well - all paired with our artisanal cheeses and handmade salumi.
